According to Ayurveda, water stored in a copper vessel can balance all the three doshas in your body, (Vata, Kapha and pitta) and it does so by positively charging the water.
How?
The answer is “Oligodynamic Effect”!
When we store water in a copper bottle overnight, copper ions dissolve in the water in small amounts. This process is called the Oligodynamic Effect as this Copper-infused water now has the potency to kill harmful microbes, fungi and bacteria.
Storing water in a copper vessel works as a purification process. It also helps maintain a body’s pH (acid-alkaline) balance.
Our body system can’t produce Copper on its own, so we need to ingest it from external sources. Drinking Copper-infused water is a gift to your body since the water is attributed to crucial health benefits.
1. Assist proper digestion
2. Helps your own body for absorption of iron
3. Helps to regulate the functioning of the thyroid gland
4. Aids in lowering the risk of cancer
5. Stimulate cell regeneration to help wounds heal quicker and soothe joint pain

Taking Care of Your Copper Bottles
All copper water bottles are made of pure Copper. The traditional copper bottles do not have any rubber seals around the neck, so it’s good but is not a leak-proof.
You must keep them vertical and is the ideal on the table. The Indus Valley has introduced the copper bottles without rubber seal as well as with rubber seal giving a choice for you to select.
You can use copper water bottle only to store water in it. It does not go well with flavoured beverages or acidic beverages. Always wash hands before cleaning your copper bottle and do not place it in the dishwasher.
If you put your copper bottle in the dishwasher, it may turn green due to acidic reaction when it comes in contact with liquid which is not safe. If you would like to use the water stored in a copper bottle in different beverages, pour it out, then create your tea, juice or smoothie.
When a copper bottle is used for over a while, the bottle might look aged and change to some other colour. This is the sign of the ageing process and nothing to worry about.
To revive the shine of your bottle, try washing using a homemade vinegar-salt, and rub on the bottle with a half lemon juice mixed with this salt mix.
