- Here is an easy guide to season new cast iron fry pan:
- 1. Boil water in the new cast iron fry pan.
- 2. Once cooled, wash it with warm, soapy water and a steel scrubber/scrub pad.
- 3. Rinse thoroughly and dry the fry pan with a paper towel/cloth.
- 4. Place it on the gas stove. Heat it till water evaporates.
- 5. Spread a layer of cooking oil (any edible oil) on the entire fry pan - top and bottom.
- 6. Heat the fry pan till smoke is visible.
- 7. Saute chopped onions or vegetable waste till it turns brown.
- 8. Discard the content.
- 9. Wipe thoroughly and store fry pan in a dry place until next use.

Its good. Maintenance is the issue. Drying totally after washing and dabbing evenly with a few drops of oil seems necessary to avoid quick rusting.
I ordered a kadai and pan.I received a broken kadai.I send an email to the company with a photo of it.To my surprise,they sent me a new one..thanks for it.Iam using it now.Good experience.After cooking,i dry it,rub oil on it and keep it the way company instructed.Really nice..now i have ordered a stainless steel pan.🥰
So I received the skillet yesterday and one thing I liked that is exactly as shown in the picture. I tried making ghavne (maharashtian Neer dosa) but it stuck to the surface. I did some research on google and seasoned it twice. The thing is the more u use the tava the more seasoned it gets. Same applies to all other tawas. This tawa is a good quality. After seasoning it twice, today I tried making omelet. One thing to be noted that the tawa should be hot. The omelet did not stick to the surface, came out really well. If seasoned and cared well, it will long last.
